Limberg LASIK is a two-step laser procedure for correcting myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. During the past 15 years, millions of LASIK procedures have been successfully performed worldwide wide. Today, nearly a million people each year undergo LASIK to treat their myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism and become glasses-free…with litte or no dependence on contacts or prescription glasses.
Limberg LASIK takes only a few minutes to complete and is performed entirely under topical (eye drop) anesthesia. The average laser time is under 60 seconds and patients remain awake and comfortable during the entire procedure. Most patients report little, if any, discomfort.
Dr. Michael Limberg performs his LASIK procedures in the comfort and safety of a specially designed laser suite within our outpatient surgery center. To help reduce possible risks and complications, factors such as humidity, temperature and overall air quality are closely monitored and maintained.
Our LASIK Technology
Limberg Eye Surgery is proud to be among the first surgeons to offer patients in the Central Coast the benefits of the VISX Excimer Laser, the laser of choice for more surgeons worldwide.
Since the late 1990s, conventional LASIK has been the procedure of choice for surgeons worldwide in their effort to reduce and eliminate the public's dependence on corrective eyewear. In conventional LASIK using Wavefront Optimized, the patient’s prescription is entered into the laser for treatment.
Dr. Limberg has taken LASIK to the next level with CustomVue™, a Wavefront Custom laser procedure approved by the FDA. During the CustomVue™ procedure, diagnostic information gathered during the WaveFront scanning process is fed directly into our VISX Star S4 eye-tracking laser.
Just like your fingerprint and DNA, the information fed into the laser is unique to your eyes only. Each of your eyes will receive its own custom laser procedure, with no two custom procedures in the world being identical.
The Best of Both Worlds: iLASIK & Microkeratome
Limberg Eye Surgery is one of the few centers in the region to offer patients access to multiple LASIK technologies. Dr. Limberg continues to offer patients the comfort and convenience of the microkeratome, proven technology used to create the protective flap in the 2-step LASIK process.
Limberg Eye Surgery is proud to offer patients Intralase technology that uses a Femtosecond laser to create the protective flap. This prcedure is also called IntraLASIK or iLASIK and is the same method of LASIK approved by NASA for astronauts and the US military for Top Gun fighter pilots, Navy Seals and frontline soldiers.
