Patients under 40 years of age typically do not require any reading assistance after their LASIK.
Patients over 40 may chose to have their distance vision optimized and use reading glasses for near. Or alternately they may chose another optical system such as monovision or blended vision to provide more versatile vision which is useful in more situations without resorting to reading glasses. Personal preference strongly affects which type of prescription is right for you. No one visual system is right for everyone and some patients find that the options provided by other vision correction surgeries are best for them. We pride ourselves in working with you to help you find your best personal vision.
